It was the perfect match. Ernabel Demillo and Meredith Kasun both met at a tennis clinic in Monmouth County, New Jersey.  They were perfect partners, playing at the same level, for about the same time and both quite passionate about the sport.  They were also both stay-at-home moms, looking for their next career move now that their children were in school.  Ernabel worked for many years as a reporter and anchor in television news, including nine years in New York City.  Meredith, meanwhile, spent almost a decade working in fashion in Manhattan.

These two moms found their new business idea on the courts.  They were tired of having to chase around and pick up tennis balls, because their most comfortable, fashionable sportswear did not have pockets.  Yes, there are tennis skirts, but they did not want to wear their skirts in the colder weather, and frankly some women just prefer pants.  And Meredith’s trick of tying her jacket around her waist to store balls was starting to hamper her game.  So they came up with the idea of making a tennis ball belt that could hold up to three balls that is not only functional, but looks fantastic (sleek, figure-complimenting, and great colors).

With Meredith’s background in fashion, they designed a fashionable, fun, and functional tennis belt, aptly named the TennisRAQ (pronounced: tennis-rack). The belt is made of lightweight neoprene and fits very comfortably around the waist.  Belts are available in 5 different colors, and each comes with a matching neoprene case.

They say “necessity is the mother of all inventions” …here at BodyStyle Athletics we say “Two moms are the mother of at least this one clever, must-have item for any tennis player!”
